We'll be returning!

14 years ago I stayed at Playa Las Tortugas and always wanted to return. Finally, in February I got my wish. It was everything I remembered and more. There were 14 of us from 12 to 80 years old and there was something to do for all ages! From horseback riding on the beach, playing in the surf or just relaxing around the pools we all thoroughly enjoyed out stay. We rented three villas, and each one was comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated with paintings, sculpture and collections. The kitchens were fully equipped, although we opted to have our meals prepared and were glad we did. Food was excellent, menu was thoughtfully varied and planned to appeal to all. The management and staff were professional and responsive, although nothing went wrong, they were there with helpful suggestions and arranged transportation as needed. It was perfect!

Great to have you back after 14 years Bo! Here's to 2030 🙂

My "big" birthday celebration with 14 of my family and best friends could not have been more wonderful. We rented 3 houses for our crowd and had meal service every day with all 14 of us eating together, alternating houses. The kids spent most of their time body surfing, kayaking up the estuary, boogie boarding and horseback riding. The adults enjoyed the leisure of reading, playing cards and dominos - and of course, cocktail time. There was never a dull or unhappy moment for any of us. The weather was absolutely perfect. The food delicious. The managers of our houses striving for perfection for us. We will be back!

We're so thrilled to hear it worked out for your celebration Carole. Thanks again for everything!

What a wonderful week long vacation in one of the most relaxing, fun, beautiful places in Mexico. We had an extended family group that rented three houses. Kids had a ball, adults all loved it. Food prepared by local ladies was a delight. Highly recommend this location and we will be back. (Don't forget your bug spray!)

Heaven on Earth

For my wife Jacquelyn, myself and our 2 year old daughter the Palmeras Residence was the vacation of a lifetime. Looking at the photos you think, it can't be this great. The pool walking distance? The beach in sight at all times? The gorgeous vistas? The well-appointed house?! But it's all true and all wonderful. If you choose to have the staff cook for you, and you're on vacation, why wouldn't you, it's more than ample and delicious and such a nice treat to have meals prepared and have no clean-up afterwards. In addition to all the house has to offer, the three bedrooms and fine entertainment system and ample outdoor sitting and hanging area, the pool you are looking at is an excellent 65' lap pool. And if you're a runner or a person who likes to know how far you've run or walked there are km markings along the beach every .5 km for the walks or runs you might do there or on the road out as well. Yes, it's a 3.5 hour haul to get there if you stop and shop on the way and it is remote but that's the charm. And if you adventure to Platitos - it's a pretty fun little town for a beer and a lobster. There are bugs and no-see-ums which come out at night so just be prepared with some bug spray - other than that truly heaven on earth.

Perfect Mother/Daughter Retreat

We just spent 10 gorgeous sunny days at Playa Las Tortugas in Casa Suenos and couldn't have had a more relaxing vacation away from our worries. We had plenty of space in the large elegant home, steps away from the new lap pool and warm waters of the ocean. We enjoyed our daily walks along the shore watching the many birds and crabs, looking at wide varieties of sea shells, helping with a few turtle releases from the adjacent turtle hatchery, playing in the waves, cooking healthful meals in the well equipped kitchen, photos to capture amazing sunsets as the tide came up...It is truly an emotional and physical escape for the body. Everywhere you look is just a dream. The colorful grounds are immaculately kept by hard working gardeners. Our house maid came daily to clean and freshen, I would purposely not make up my bed because I liked the way she tightly folded the sheets. Anyway, I could go on and on. This was my second time to PLT and won't be my last. My only warning is be prepared for a long drive from the Airport, especially bumpy after heavy rains, bring mosquito repellent for everything that bites, and plenty of food for the fridge to last. And JUST RELAX and ENJOY!

We're just back from our 4th stay at Playa las Tortugas. We've loved it every time! The location is unparalleled, the houses are lovely, the food is excellent, and the peacefulness is amazing. Our kids (currently 8 and 6) love it and can't wait until our next visit. This getaway location is our favorite!

Amazing getaway

Close to Puerto Vallarta (~2.15 hour drive), but remote enough to feel like you've got away from it all. The drive through the fruit plantation is beautiful. We stayed for several nights with a bunch of friends with kids - it was perfect. We each had our own lovely villa, which gave us space when needed, but we came together either at the pool, or the beach front palapa to enjoy the beach and beautiful grounds. The patient gardener even kept us supplied with fresh coconut water! Great boogie-boarding/body surfing and a beautiful lagoon for more calmer water. A true 'back to nature' getaway.

Great to hear you guys enjoyed your time at the beach Emma!

Had a very relaxing and quiet 3 days. We really enjoyed the ocean because there there wasn't much current, so the non-swimmers could feel safe. Short walk to the point to surf with a generally friendly crowd. It is a bit of a trek to the nearest town but if you stock up you should need to venture out. The only problem we had was there was a problem with the water heater, so we didn't have hot water all the time. House was comfortable, enjoyed the jacuzzi and well equipped house.

Our apologies for the water heather fiasco Michael :-/ It ended up being an issue with the pilot light that's since been fixed. We assure you you'll find all the warm water you'll need on your next trip down. Thanks again!

Lovely Place for a Family Vacation

We had a great time on our visit to PLT with our family of ten including four small children. We stayed at Dos Hermanos and loved the beautiful house with all its lovely outdoor patio spaces. Eli and Kelly were very helpful from the moment we inquired about making a reservation all the way through our return home, answering questions and making sure we got certain things to borrow for the little ones (high chair, car seats for shuttle, etc). We really appreciated their kind attention and thoughtfulness. Everyone we encountered on our stay was very helpful and sweet and we enjoyed the meals option. Great food. Beautiful beach. We rented a kayak one day and took it across the river for a walk to Platanitos which was fun. Lots to do and very family friendly with the shallow pool and beach toys and kites and boogie boards available for use. Can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back!

You Won't be Disappointed

I’ve lived and worked in Mexico for thirty-five years, travelling to corners where few gringos tread. This place is a find. Our party of seven lodged at the Villa del Mar over Easter week. The four bedroom house is spacious and well-appointed (Wi-Fi, AC, modern kitchen). The property boasts a large, seaside palapa furnished with hammocks and lounge chairs—a great place to catch the breeze or to doze off to the sound of the surf. The staff is courteous, discreet, and helpful. The grounds are impeccably kept. The meals surprised and delighted even the fastidious among us. If long beach walks, tropical bird concertos, and no cellphone service (bliss for some) is what you seek, this secluded stretch of Mexican Riviera is the place to visit. No need to lock the doors at night. Bring books, booze, and sandaled feet. A special “hats-off” to Eli in reservations (for prompt email replies and for accommodating our last minute schedule change) and to the ubiquitous Pascual who, with joyous amiability, catered to the whims of seven with fresh fish, ripe coconuts, and ample bug repellent (for the unprepared.)
